Formal warnings. Forced fixes. Fines. Are your digital products ready for scrutiny?

Your website, app, or digital service may already be non-compliant. National authorities can and have already started to issue formal warnings. Funka Response puts experts in your corner the moment a formal warning arrives.

Why now

Enforcement is live: public and private sector.

Public sector — WAD

Enforcement active for years. Authorities are auditing and issuing formal reports.

Private sector — EAA

Deadline passed 28 June 2025. E-commerce, finance, transport, telecom and digital products all in scope.

Most organisations are completely unprepared

A formal warning is manageable if you have a structured accessibility roadmap ready. Most organisations don't.

Why this affects you

The threshold is lower than you think.

The EAA directive applies to any company with 10 or more employees and €2.5 million in annual turnover that sells or operates digital products and services in the EU. That catches far more businesses than most expect.

10+ employees

A large share of e-commerce, SaaS, and digital services falls within scope. If you have a small team and sell online, this directive applies to you.

95% of websites fail

The WebAIM Million report analyses the top one million websites every year. Over 95% have detectable accessibility failures. If that is true for the world's largest websites, the chances are high that yours does too.

Responding is complex

Authorities are issuing formal warnings now. Most organisations have no idea how to respond correctly: what to say, what to commit to, and how to structure a reply that satisfies the authority without creating new obligations.

If you sell online, run a SaaS platform, or operate any digital service in the EU, you are in scope. The EAA is a European Directive, transposed into national law in every EU member state.

How Funka Response works

Three steps. No scramble, no guesswork. Just a clear process from the moment a report arrives.

1

Subscribe

Choose your tier and subscribe before an authority contacts you. Coverage starts immediately.

2

You receive a notice from the authority

Forward the report to Funka. That single step triggers your subscription and starts the process.

3

Get expert help from Funka

A senior consultant reviews, meets with you, drafts the response. You approve before anything goes to the authority.

The depth of support depends on your tier. Number of consultant meetings, written replies, and whether Funka re-tests the issues from the report. All covered in the packages below.

When the authority calls, you're ready.

Choose the coverage level that fits your organisation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Funka Response before subscribing.

Yes. Funka Response coverage only applies if you are an active subscriber at the moment the authority contacts you. Subscribing after receiving a report means that case falls outside your subscription.

Think of it like insurance. It needs to be in place before the event, not after.

Funka can still help you, but not under a subscription. If you have already received a formal report without an active subscription, Funka will handle your case separately and provide you with a tailored proposal for that specific situation.

A formal written communication from a national supervisory authority — such as a report, warning, or enforcement notice — issued under the Web Accessibility Directive (WAD) or the European Accessibility Act (EAA). This includes initial findings, requests for a formal response, or notices of non-compliance.

If you are unsure whether the communication you have received qualifies, contact Funka and we will advise you.

Funka drafts the formal response on your behalf. Before anything is submitted, you receive the draft, review it, and give your approval. Any changes you request are incorporated first. Once you approve, the response is ready to submit — you remain in full control of what goes to the authority.

The initial response fee is a one-time cost charged per case handled — meaning each time you submit an authority report to Funka. It covers the work involved in reviewing the report, setting up the case, and initiating the response process.

The fee varies by tier: €150 for Lite, €75 for Pro, and €0 for Max, where it is fully included in the subscription. The monthly or annual subscription fee covers your ongoing coverage; the initial response fee applies when a case is actually triggered.

For most organisations, Response Pro is the recommended starting point. It covers the core response needs: consultant meeting, written replies, and an action plan for the authority, at a balanced price point.

Response Lite suits organisations that want basic coverage at the lowest cost and are comfortable completing their own Accessibility Statement. Response Max is best for organisations with higher risk exposure, those already under active scrutiny, or those who want Funka to handle everything including a re-test of the flagged issues.

Yes. You can upgrade your subscription tier at any time. If you upgrade while a case is already in progress, the new tier conditions apply from that point forward. Contact Funka to arrange an upgrade.

No lock-in. Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time. Annual subscribers are covered for the full year they have paid for, with no automatic renewal unless they choose to continue.

Each subscription covers one domain or one app. An app means a single application, whether iOS, Android, or a web app. If your organisation operates both a website and an app, or multiple domains or apps, each one requires its own subscription to be covered.

If you need to cover multiple domains or apps, Funka offers special multi-domain and multi-app pricing. Contact us to discuss the options that fit your situation.

The Funka Toolbox is the full range of products and services that Funka offers, including accessibility audits, training, testing tools, and consultancy. As an active Funka Response subscriber on the Pro or Max tier, you automatically receive a discount on any Funka Toolbox product or service you order, for as long as your subscription remains active.
